Floods Dominate President's State of the Nation Address Concerns

Filipinos are urging President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to tackle pressing issues in his upcoming State of the Nation Address (SONA), with flood control emerging as the top concern.

A recent study found that flood control generated the highest online engagement, accounting for 43.8% of SONA-related discussions monitored over the past year.

The report analyzed data from 3,809 Facebook posts between July 2025 and July 2026, highlighting the public's desire for effective solutions to address the issue.

The results suggest that Filipinos are not rejecting the government's record, but rather expressing frustration with the gap between what is promised and what is delivered.

As the country faces the rising cost of living and other pressing concerns, the public's expectations are clear: they want meaningful action from their leaders to address these issues.

With the SONA on the horizon, President Marcos, Jr. has an opportunity to address these concerns and work towards finding solutions that benefit the Filipino people.
