Broadcast Network Faces Criticism Over Guest's Controversial Comments on Pride March.

GB News has faced a backlash from the public and public figures following a segment that aired on July 5, 2026. The segment featured a debate between Catholic journalist Caroline Farrow and Liberal Democrat councillor Mathew Hulbert about the suitability of Pride celebrations for children.

The debate centered around Farrow's claims that Pride events are "self-indulgent" and feature "very sexualized" displays. She also expressed concerns about merchandise available at Pride events, which she believed promoted "bizarre and unhealthy kinks and quirks." Farrow specifically mentioned "furries and bestiality," as well as "minor-attracted," a term she used to describe people who are attracted to minors.

The segment sparked an immediate reaction from the public, with many expressing outrage on social media. Green Party leader Zack Polanski, Drag Race UK star Bimini, and clothing and record label He.She.They joined forces to pen an open letter to Ofcom, the UK media regulator, condemning Farrow's comments as "dangerous" and "lies" that perpetuate harm against the LGBTQ+ community.

The letter stated that LGBTQ+ people find bestiality and minor attraction "abhorrent" and called on Ofcom to hold GB News accountable for allowing such comments to air. In response, a GB News spokesperson clarified that Farrow's views do not reflect the editorial position of the network. The spokesperson also assured that GB News takes its responsibilities as a regulated broadcaster seriously and is committed to complying with Ofcom's Broadcasting Code.

This is not the first time GB News has faced criticism for its handling of LGBTQ+ issues. In 2025, the network aired an apology after a host compared LGBTQ+ people to "paedos." The latest controversy raises questions about the network's commitment to promoting inclusivity and respect for marginalized communities.
