Detectives say Johnson has distinctive tattoos that could help the public identify her despite attempts at disguise. A rose or flower tattoo is believed to be on her left hand, extending from below the thumb toward the index finger. She also displays an unidentified tattoo on her right ankle and a large scorpion tattoo running from her left buttock down her left thigh.
Johnson is known to use several aliases, including Harley, Jessica Elaine Bowman, Jessica Elaine Thrush, Jessica Elaine Thrash, Jessica Dowdy, and possibly Denise. She has established ties to Walton and Okaloosa counties in Florida, as well as parts of Georgia and lower Alabama. Authorities warn she may manipulate individuals into providing transportation, money, or shelter by fabricating stories of domestic violence or hardship.
The sheriff's office describes Johnson as cunning and a master manipulator, urging anyone aiding her to cease cooperation. Five individuals have been arrested and charged with accessory to a capital felony after the fact: Michael Ray White, Kathleen Morris, Bobbi Wagstaff, Martin Leaverton, and Sandra Leaverton. Sheriff Michael Adkinson has warned that anyone still helping Johnson hide will face criminal charges. A combined reward of up to $16,000 is available for information leading to her arrest.
Jason Coulthart was last seen leaving the College Condominiums on East College Boulevard in Niceville on May 24. Detectives developed leads that directed them to a property off Sunset Lane in Freeport, where they obtained a search warrant and discovered his body buried in a shallow grave. The District 1 Medical Examiner's Office later identified the remains through DNA testing.
