President Trump said on Air Force One that Iran is eager to reach a deal, hours after U.S. forces resumed bombing Iran.
He described the recent strikes as hitting Iranian targets at a ratio of roughly twenty to one, noting that the attacks were retaliatory for previous Iranian actions.
Trump stated that Iranian forces struck three boats, not two, and that the U.S. response was significantly stronger.
When asked about the possibility of a full‑scale conflict, he said he does not know but believes the United States would win quickly.
He added that the U.S. has already prevailed militarily and that Iran has limited capabilities left.
Trump reiterated that Iran wants to make a deal “so badly,” but questioned whether Tehran would honor any agreement.
In response to a query about why Iran would attack commercial vessels while seeking a deal, he called Iranian leadership “sort of crazy” and said they are somewhat out of control.
Earlier, Trump announced at a NATO summit that the ceasefire was over and ordered a new round of strikes against Iran.
He said the latest operation is in retribution for Iran’s bombing of ships the previous day and warned that further provocations would elicit a stronger response.
