Trump Links US Troop Withdrawal from Europe to Greenland Negotiations

The President has threatened to withdraw troops from Europe if they don't make a deal with the United States on Greenland, as he renews his focus on acquiring the Arctic island.

The President has been attacking NATO allies in Europe since they rebuffed his demands to help secure the Strait of Hormuz and instead urged the United States to end the war.

Some European countries completely barred the US from using their bases during the Iran conflict, and the President has called the alliance a "paper tiger" on numerous occasions.

The President has since been considering pulling US troops out of Europe and even leaving the alliance altogether.

During the NATO summit in Turkey, the President suggested he might draw down US military presence in Europe, describing himself as "very disappointed with NATO."

When asked if troop drawdowns in Europe are likely, the President said, "We've invested trillions of dollars in NATO. Why? To protect European countries and others," noting that the help is unreciprocated.

The President also tied his decision to a "good deal on Greenland," saying that a lot will depend on it.

He added that the lack of help from NATO allies at the beginning of the Iran conflict was a significant factor in his decision.

When asked again after the NATO summit, the President said his decision will depend on several factors, including a "good deal on Greenland" and the level of help from NATO allies on Iran.

The President emphasized that the US doesn't really need help from NATO allies on Iran, but that they are now trying to help.

When asked if he will pull more US troops out of Europe, the President said he hasn't made a final determination yet.

A lot will depend on Greenland and Iran, the President said, and he wants to make a very good deal on Greenland.

The President's comments have sparked concern among NATO allies and raised questions about the future of the alliance.
