iPhone Prices to Rise

iPhone Prices to Rise

Apple is expected to raise iPhone prices due to various factors, including the current memory supply crunch affecting the industry. This shortage has already led to price increases for Mac and iPad models. Additionally, the new camera system in the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro, featuring a variable-aperture lens, is likely to be more expensive than the current model.

The price of Apple's high-end iPhone has remained relatively stable over the past decade. The iPhone X, introduced in 2017, set a new standard for flagship phones with a $999 price tag. In comparison, the iPhone 17 Pro, which is similar to the iPhone X, starts at $1,099, representing a modest $100 increase. Despite advancements in technology, including larger screens and improved cameras, iPhone prices have not fluctuated significantly.

The extent of the potential price hikes is still uncertain, but recent increases in iPad and Mac prices may provide some indication. It is anticipated that iPhone prices could rise by $100-$200. The folding iPhone Ultra is expected to have a starting price of at least $2,000, possibly more. However, it is unclear whether Apple will adjust the prices of the standard iPhone 17 and 17e models, which are not scheduled for updates until next spring.
