Vincent Pastore, Star of The Sopranos, Dies at 80 Amid Investigation

Veteran actor Vincent Pastore, known for his portrayal of on-screen mobsters, has passed away at the age of 80.

The television and film star was found deceased at his home in the Bronx, New York, by a neighbor and longtime friend after being unreachable for three days.

Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding his death, with the cause of death remaining unknown.

Pastore is survived by his daughter, Renee, whom he shared with his ex-wife Nancy Berke.

Born and raised in an Italian-American neighborhood, Pastore served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War after graduating from high school.

He went on to achieve a degree in drama from Pace University and began working in the club business before pursuing an acting career.

Pastore's early acting credits include smaller roles in films such as Goodfellas and Carlito's Way, before landing his most iconic role as Salvatore 'Big Pussy' Bonpensiero in HBO's The Sopranos.

Pastore's portrayal of the mobster earned him significant recognition and cemented his status as a notable figure in the entertainment industry.
