Biden Claims Family Finances Depleted

A recently released deposition transcript shows Hunter Biden asserting that his family lacks financial resources and that mounting legal fees are overwhelming him. The testimony is part of an ongoing lawsuit filed by the law firm Winston Taylor over unpaid legal expenses.

Winston Taylor contends that Hunter Biden owes approximately $17 million for representation in criminal prosecutions, congressional investigations, and defamation actions.

During the deposition, he stated he possesses no money, no valuable assets beyond self‑painted artworks, and no holdings in stocks, bonds, or savings accounts.

These claims of financial strain echo other reports indicating former President Joe Biden faces personal debt of roughly $800,000 and increased property taxes on his Delaware residence.

The former president receives more than $400,000 annually in government pensions earned from his congressional service and tenure in the White House.

Hunter Biden’s reported lack of assets follows years of extensive spending on substances, luxury accommodations, and costly gifts, which may have depleted wealth accumulated from art sales and a seven‑figure salary earned while employed by a Ukrainian energy company.

He also testified that he does not own a car or a phone.

Biden argues that Winston Taylor was aware of his inability to pay when it agreed to represent him and that the parties intended to negotiate a resolution. The firm says it attempted to connect him with donors within the Democratic network to help cover the fees.

In July, a judge awarded him $1.7 million in a defamation suit; the law firm is seeking to place a lien on that judgment, though collection is complicated by the defendant’s location abroad.

Representatives for both Hunter Biden and former President Joe Biden declined to comment when contacted.
