The tragic case of Courtney Clenney, the OnlyFans model charged with second-degree murder in the death of her boyfriend Christian Obumseli, has taken a significant turn with the announcement of a plea agreement.
The terms of the agreement have not been disclosed, but it is expected to be presented in Miami-Dade County court on August 10. Clenney's attorneys have stated that they will reserve further comment on the specific terms until they are placed on the record before the court.
Clenney, 30, has been in custody since August 2022 in connection with Obumseli's death, which occurred on April 3, 2022, at the Miami apartment she rented. Her attorneys have argued that Obumseli was abusive and that Clenney was a battered partner, while Obumseli's family has maintained that he was the victim of domestic violence.
The death was initially considered self-defense, but investigators continued to dig after receiving vocal concerns from Obumseli's family. A medical examiner said the knife wound Obumseli sustained in his chest was three inches deep.
Clenney told investigators that Obumseli pushed her and threw her to the floor before she grabbed a knife and threw it at him from several feet away. A police report revealed that officers arrived at the couple's home around 5 p.m. in response to an aggravated battery call and found Obumseli with a single stab wound to the torso.
A previously recorded video showed Clenney shouting at and repeatedly striking Obumseli in front of someone who recorded the encounter. In the video, Clenney is heard blaming Obumseli for her drinking, telling him he was "fired," and screaming at him repeatedly to leave.
