Riccardo Calafiori has been summoned as a witness in a high‑profile investigation involving alleged sexual misconduct within Italian football.
Prosecutors Rosaria Stagnaro and Bruna Albertini have begun questioning athletes, and authorities estimate that roughly fifty sportsmen are linked to the case.
Among those named is Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni, 27, who faces accusations of maintaining a sexual relationship with a minor.
Bastoni denies the allegations and did not appear at the prosecutor’s office for questioning on Friday.
The alleged incident concerns a 17‑year‑old girl who reportedly engaged in sexual relations with Bastoni in July 2021, when he was 21, after meeting in the town of Cinisello Balsamo.
The girl testified that she was not a prostitute and did not receive money in exchange for sex.
Bastoni received a blind summons to the Milan Prosecutor’s Office; under Italian law attendance is not compulsory and a summons does not imply guilt.
