Delta Air Lines announced a revision to its partnership with Starbucks that changes how SkyMiles members earn miles on coffee purchases.
Effective August 5, members will receive one mile for every dollar spent at Starbucks, without the previous requirement to reload a virtual Starbucks card in $25 increments.
The new policy eliminates the higher accrual rate granted to members who loaded $75 or more, which had produced more than one mile per dollar. All eligible purchases now earn a uniform one‑mile‑per‑dollar rate.

SkyMiles and Starbucks accounts can be linked through the program’s website, and mileage credit begins immediately on qualifying transactions. To retain earning eligibility, members must complete a Delta flight within 12 months of linking their accounts.
The collaboration now includes over four million linked accounts, and Starbucks beverages remain available in Delta Sky Clubs and on select aircraft. The airline highlights the partnership as a continuing element of its loyalty ecosystem.
Delta confirmed that Medallion status requirements will remain unchanged for the upcoming year, maintaining existing qualification criteria for elite tiers.
