On May 13, a violent shooting in a suburban neighbourhood in Vaughan left two men dead. The victims, 49‑year‑old Pasquale Casciato, a former member of a motorcycle club, and 34‑year‑old Christian Belsito, were struck by more than two dozen bullets in a targeted hit.
In the wake of the drug bust, authorities arrested several key suspects. Michele Moscone, 27, was already in custody when the operation concluded. Gerard Murray, 48, faces two counts of first‑degree murder and an arson charge, while Glen Mousseau, 55, previously convicted for a drug smuggling scheme, was charged as an accessory to murder and for related firearm offences.
Moscone is charged with two counts of first‑degree murder, arson causing property damage, and multiple firearm violations. He also faces a range of drug‑related charges, including conspiracy to possess and traffic cocaine, possession of controlled substances, and related offenses.
Investigators are examining whether the Vaughan murders are connected to the broader drug trafficking network uncovered in Project Bay. While definitive links have not yet been established, analysts suggest that the killings may be part of the same criminal ecosystem that facilitated the drug and weapons smuggling.
The investigation remains ongoing, and none of the charges have yet been proven in court. Authorities continue to pursue all leads in an effort to bring the perpetrators to justice.
