Katie Price's financial struggles appear to be worsening, with the news that her horse-riding clothing company, KP Equestrian Ltd, has been dissolved. The company, which sold riding leggings, body warmers, and hoodies, was officially removed from the Companies House register this week.
Katie Price originally launched KP Equestrian in 2008, but the business closed in 2017. It was relaunched in 2021 with a new photoshoot and online store. However, signs that the business was struggling had been evident for some time, with the brand's Instagram account not being updated in two years and its website disappearing.
Financial records suggest that the business never quite found its footing, with the latest accounts showing a drop in value from £26,000 in 2022 to just £1,000 this year. The closure is another setback for Katie, who launched the equestrian range after it emerged she owed more than £3million.
Katie had promoted the range at equestrian events and had set up stalls to sell the clothing in person. She had also poured herself into designing the collection, promising stylish and comfortable riding wear with "my own sparkle added." Unfortunately, the sparkle appears not to have translated into sales.
The closure of KP Equestrian comes at a particularly awkward time for Katie, as her husband Lee Andrews is facing significant financial pressures of his own. Lee is reportedly battling fines and financial demands believed to total between £100,000 and £120,000 following his release from Dubai's Al-Awir prison. Katie has already made it clear she won't be footing that bill.
With one business now quietly disappearing and no sign of the equestrian brand galloping back into action, only time will tell what Katie's next money-making scheme will look like.
