Former England rugby prop Joe Marler will join the revived Gladiators series as the first official celebrity Gladiator, adopting the moniker “Mauler.”
Marler, a six‑foot‑tall prop who earned 95 caps for England before retiring from professional rugby last year, recently gained a wider TV audience through his appearance on a celebrity reality competition.
In the upcoming fourth series, Mauler will appear throughout the season, challenging contestants in the program’s signature physical events.
Production is currently underway in Sheffield, with the series slated for broadcast on television and streaming platforms in 2027.
