Bayern Munich has made a significant signing, bringing in talented young defender Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt for a reported €55m fee.
The deal, which appears to have been agreed upon some time ago, marks a major coup for the Bavarians, who are looking to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
Brown, who was one of the few German players to emerge from the World Cup with credit, joins Bayern after a season with Eintracht Frankfurt, where he impressed with his skills and gained a reputation as a top young talent.
Bayern's signing of Brown has also fended off interest from several other teams, including those from the Premier League, who had been eyeing the former Nurnberg youngster.
The deal is a significant boost for Bayern, who are looking to improve on a strong season last year, where they demonstrated themselves to be one of the top club teams in Europe.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is reportedly close to sending a defender to Serie A, but a Premier League swap deal could yet change those plans.
Barcelona, on the other hand, is considering selling a first-team regular to the Premier League in order to generate some extra funds for their summer transfer spending.
