James Van Der Beek's Emotional Farewell to Acting Leaves Fans Heartbroken

James Van Der Beek's final screen role has debuted on Amazon Prime, with the late actor's emotional scenes leaving viewers in tears.

The Dawson's Creek actor filmed scenes in four episodes of the new Amazon Prime Legally Blonde prequel Elle before his death in February at the age of 48 due to cancer.

In the new eight-parter, Van Der Beek plays Dean Wilson, a local mayoral candidate who befriends Elle's mum Eva, played by June Diane Raphael.

The late actor first appears in the third episode, which includes a dedication to him before the credits roll, reading: 'In loving memory of James Van Der Beek.'

Co-star Lexi Minetree praised Van Der Beek's performance, saying he 'brought so much life to this character and to set.'

Minetree also shared that Van Der Beek brought his children to set while they were filming, adding to the emotional atmosphere.

June Diane Raphael said Van Der Beek often spoke of his children on set, highlighting his close relationship with his family.

Raphael also expressed her sadness at Van Der Beek's passing, saying 'We miss him very much.' She added that fans are in for a 'real treat' with his final performance.

Van Der Beek's family has received an outpouring of support from his co-stars and fans, with many taking to social media to share their tributes.
