Gary Neville Predicts England Will Defeat Norway in World Cup Quarterfinal

England will travel to Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium for a quarter‑final clash with Norway at 10pm BST on Saturday, following a period of mental and physical recovery after a 3‑2 victory over Mexico.

Former England international Gary Neville has voiced confidence that the Three Lions are favourites for the win, though he acknowledges the challenge posed by Norway’s prolific striker.

“It’s tough to stop Haaland,” Neville said, noting the Norwegian’s seven goals in the tournament and the impact he has had on opponents.

Neville praised the team’s performance against Mexico, describing the match as an “amazing game of football” that showcased England’s resilience, composure and tactical discipline under difficult conditions.

He highlighted the defensive shape achieved in the first half, noting improved compactness and stronger links between wide players and the back four, which contributed to the team’s control of the game.

In particular, Neville singled out midfielder Jude Bellingham, calling him world‑class and praising his performances across the five matches played to date, while also acknowledging the contributions of Harry Kane and Declan Rice.
