Trump attacks Gov. Tim Walz over Minnesota cyber breach

President Trump convened a cabinet meeting at Camp David on July 31, 2026, during which he addressed a recent cyber attack that had targeted infrastructure in Minnesota.

During the session, the President dismissed claims that Iran was responsible for the attack, stating that the blame should not be placed on foreign actors.

Instead, Trump criticized the state’s leadership, labeling Minnesota’s governor as "grossly incompetent" and suggesting that state officials were at fault for the security breach.

He highlighted that 30 water plants had been compromised and argued that the responsibility lay with Minnesota’s administration rather than external interference.

Trump also referenced the work of the White House anti‑fraud task force, led by Vice President Vance, noting that the team had identified extensive corruption within Minnesota’s government.

The Vice President’s report indicated that significant corrupt activities were currently underway in the state, underscoring the need for urgent reforms.

The meeting underscored the administration’s focus on domestic cybersecurity and governance issues, while distancing itself from allegations of international involvement.
