A 24-year-old mother was fatally attacked in her home in London following a violent early-morning incident. Kirandeep Kaur, who had recently given birth, was found with fatal injuries at a property on Uxbridge Road. Authorities confirmed the suspect, a 44-year-old man, was located nearby with injuries consistent with jumping from a window.
Kaur, who had relocated to the United Kingdom two years earlier under a student visa and later secured a work permit, was described as a devoted mother by loved ones. Her parents sold their family farmland in Punjab, India, to support her education and future opportunities abroad. Relatives expressed devastation over the loss, emphasizing their demand for justice and the repatriation of her body.
A neighbor, Ruby, painted a portrait of Kaur as a “friendly, smiley young mum” who had recently embraced motherhood with joy. “She looked so happy being a mum. The baby is so cute and we were all so pleased for the mum,” Ruby said. The local Sikh community, through Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Southall, condemned the violence, calling for a thorough and transparent investigation to uphold justice.
Police confirmed the suspect, Daniel Sean James, faces charges of murder, attempted murder, and possession of a bladed article. Investigators are examining all potential motivations, including racial factors, but have not yet classified the case as a hate crime. Kaur’s brother-in-law reported that her husband, who was also injured in the attack, remains recovering with family support.
