Liberals in the media have been quick to defend Dr. Anthony Fauci after he invoked his Fifth Amendment right over 100 times during a Senate hearing on the COVID pandemic.
However, liberal radio host Charlamagne tha God expressed skepticism about Fauci's behavior, calling it "suspicious" during his show on Thursday.
Charlamagne stated that Fauci's pardon from President Joe Biden looks "fishy" and wondered why Fauci needed a pardon if there was no crime committed.
"I know these conspiracy theorists are happy this morning," Charlamagne said. "I'm like, I know they're sitting around saying, 'I told you so.' We tried to tell you!"
Charlamagne appeared to dismiss legitimate critics of the COVID crisis as "conspiracy theorists" without questioning why they were given that label.
However, he later questioned Fauci's behavior, saying that his refusal to answer questions in the Senate hearing looked "suspicious" to him.
Charlamagne also argued that Fauci shouldn't be protected from lying under oath during the hearing.
He asked, "How can somebody trap you if you're not doing nothing wrong? Like, well, like, how can— you can't trap me if I'm not doing anything wrong. What am I going to say?"
Despite Charlamagne's skepticism, a contributor on his show jumped in to defend Fauci, claiming that Republicans were just looking for a scapegoat.
The contributor pointed to 1,100 pages of Fauci's personal government diary entries, which accuse him of misleading the public during the pandemic.
However, the contributor conveniently failed to mention that Fauci's behavior during the hearing was a clear indication of wrongdoing.
Charlamagne fired back, saying, "But y'all don't think it's fishy that he got a pardon. Why did he need a pardon? A pardon?"
As the panel continued to discuss the issue, they descended into a Trump-bashing session, spewing falsehoods about the former president.
However, it's worth noting that just a few months ago, Charlamagne called Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas a "coon" because he disagreed with him.
Additionally, Charlamagne previously admitted that he regrets getting the COVID vaccine, saying that he suffers from chest pains and heart issues.
