Chelsea has lodged a fresh bid for Rayo Vallecano left‑back Pep Chavarria after an earlier offer was declined.
The move comes in the wake of Marc Cucurella’s transfer to Real Madrid, leaving the English club seeking depth on the left side of its defence.
Sources say the club has agreed personal terms with the 28‑year‑old, indicating a willingness to move forward with the negotiation.

Chavarria’s contract contains a €50 million release clause, but Rayo Vallecano is reportedly open to selling for about €25 million before add‑ons.
The defender joined Rayo in 2023 from Real Zaragoza and has spent four seasons in La Liga, featuring in the UEFA Conference League final against Crystal Palace.
With the new proposal in place, the parties appear to be approaching a resolution, though a final agreement has not yet been reached.
