Arsenal Targets Third Major Summer Signing in Pursuit of Top Talent

Arsenal are working to bolster their squad with a third major signing, following the arrivals of Vinicius Junior and Bruno Guimaraes.

The Premier League champions are actively pursuing deals for Real Madrid forward Vinicius and Newcastle United midfielder Guimaraes, despite the Gunners already making significant additions to their team.

Arsenal won their first Premier League title since 2004 last season, but manager Mikel Arteta believes reinforcements are needed to maintain their position at the top of the table.

Arteta has welcomed Christos Tzolis and Illan Meslier to the squad at the Emirates Stadium, while Arsenal have activated a clause to sign Piero Hincapie on a permanent transfer.

Guimaraes is expected to bolster an Arsenal midfield that already includes Declan Rice, Martin Odegaard, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino, Eberechi Eze, and Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Arsenal are also hoping to capitalise on the contract uncertainty surrounding Vinicius, a two-time Champions League winner who is in dispute with Real Madrid.

The Brazil icon is entering the final year of his contract with the La Liga giants and could be sold, with Arsenal's board having already approved a move for the player.

Manager Arteta has reportedly contacted Vinicius to persuade him to join the English champions.

In addition to their pursuit of Vinicius and Guimaraes, Arsenal are focused on signing another central defender to cover for the injured William Saliba.

Saliba will be out for an extended period after aggravating a back injury during the World Cup, where he played a key role in France's semi-final appearance.

Arsenal have been linked with moves for England World Cup stars John Stones and Ezri Konsa, although Stones has since joined Inter Milan.

Konsa remains available to Arsenal and is believed to be interested in joining Arteta's title winners after seven seasons at Aston Villa.
