WhatsApp for iPad Sets Up Independently of iPhone

WhatsApp for iPad Sets Up Independently of iPhone

After a 15‑year wait, the iPad now hosts an official WhatsApp application, ending the need for workarounds like browser-based web access.

The original release required users to link the app to an existing phone account by scanning a QR code, a step that many found inconvenient.

The latest update removes that dependency, allowing users to register and set up WhatsApp directly on the iPad without a smartphone.

Additional enhancements include a redesigned interface for CarPlay integration, the ability to share Apple Music tracks to WhatsApp status, and new tools for opening and editing PDFs in the web and desktop versions of the app.

These features are rolling out progressively; users who have not yet seen them should expect availability shortly.
