Alan Shearer is confident that England can progress to the semi-finals of the World Cup with a win against Norway on Saturday.
The former England captain was speaking about the upcoming match, saying that the key to England's success lies in nullifying the threat of Erling Haaland, the Norwegian striker who has been in unstoppable form so far at the tournament.
Shearer compared Haaland to Harry Kane, saying that if England can stop the latter, they will have a much better chance of winning the match.
However, the Newcastle legend believes that if England can replicate their display against Mexico, they will have a good chance of progressing.
Shearer also backs Harry Kane and Anthony Gordon to score goals for England in the match, and predicts a 2-1 win for the Three Lions.
He also predicts that England will face Argentina in the semi-finals, along with a semi-final between Spain and France.
Shearer's predictions come as England are sweating on the fitness of Reece James, who has been out with a hamstring problem but is pushing for a return to the starting lineup.
A start on Saturday seems unlikely, but James may be fit to feature in some capacity.
