He claimed the policies aimed to control the American people and treat citizens as lab rats. Moreno said the approach reflected a broader Democratic agenda to expand government power and threaten freedoms. He argued that Fauci had the ability to implement total control.
The confrontation occurred during a Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee hearing, where Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right and refused to answer questions. Moreno stated Fauci’s influence had negatively impacted children’s health and small businesses. He called the actions a significant damage to the nation.
Moreno cited more than 1,000 pages of internal notes released by committee chairman, suggesting Fauci privately held views that differed from public statements. He described Fauci as a “depraved bureaucrat” who should face prosecution. Despite Fauci receiving a pardon, investigations remain possible.
The Florida Attorney General has opened an investigation following Fauci’s refusal to answer questions. Moreno urged that similar investigations be pursued in other states. He expressed a desire to hold Fauci accountable.
Moreno criticized Fauci for refusing to apologize to those who said they were harmed by pandemic policies. He also noted Fauci failed to acknowledge their concerns.
