On Tuesday, the messaging platform rolled out a series of updates focused exclusively on group chat functionality.
A new “@all” command allows users to send a notification to every member of a group. The feature is available only to administrators in groups with more than 32 participants. Users can opt to mute all‑mention alerts, though doing so will prevent future notifications from any @all usage.
The updates also expand the platform’s poll capabilities. Polls can now include a closing deadline, a privacy option that hides participants’ names, and the ability to edit the question within fifteen minutes of posting.
Another change lets users create new group chats directly from existing groups. This shortcut eliminates the need to manually add members when forming a sub‑group.
While the new tools enhance coordination for events and planning, they also provide opportunities for less constructive use, such as private conversations that exclude the original group.
These enhancements aim to streamline group communication while giving administrators greater control over notifications and engagement.
