California Parents File Lawsuit Against Fitness Club Following Disturbing Incident of Worker Throwing Toddler.

The family of a 23-month-old boy, who suffered a traumatic brain injury and a concussion after allegedly being thrown by a daycare worker at a California fitness club, has filed a lawsuit against the facility.

The incident took place on March 17, 2025, at the Bay Club in El Segundo, a premium membership-based fitness centre. The lawsuit alleges that the toddler fell on a hardwood floor after being thrown by the daycare employee, causing severe injuries.

The security footage shows the toddler walking towards the childcare worker and reaching for her hands, before being swung and propelled over her head, landing approximately 6 feet above the ground.

A California family is suing a fitness club after video allegedly shows a childcare worker throwing and dropping their son.

The lawsuit claims that the Bay Club lied to the parents about the severity and circumstances of the child's injuries, stating that the worker fell while in a squatting position and that the child was only about 1.5 feet above the ground.

The complaint alleges that the security footage proves the Bay Club's version of the incident was intentionally false and misleading.

The toddler, who was taken to hospital the same day, was diagnosed with a concussion, traumatic brain injury, and facial abrasions. He continues to experience symptoms, including hearing loss, more than a year after the incident.

The family's lawyer stated that the Bay Club's deception in hiding the incident from the parents is inexcusable, and that daycare facilities should have the highest level of care for children and notify parents with transparency and urgency in case of an injury.

The Bay Club has declined to comment on the matter, stating that the safety of its members, team members, and families is its highest priority.
